Through an integrated continuum of care and a focus on prevention, we provide responsive, cost-effective health services to the families and communities who need us most.
Today, HAS remains a trusted, respected resource for communities throughout the Lower Artibonite Valley. We test new solutions and improve upon what has come before, and we prioritize community buy-in and accountability.
Our mission extends far beyond the hospital walls.
Hôpital Albert Schweitzer Haiti (HAS) provides high-quality health care through its 200-bed hospital, community health centers, and health posts.
Much of our large service area is remote or mountainous. Some areas can only be accessed by foot or pack animal. The only hospital in 610 square miles, HAS offers specialized care for vulnerable patients, such as surgeries, high-risk obstetrics, and a dedicated neonatal ward for premature and sick babies.
HAS sponsors water and sanitation projects, operates community clinics, and sends trained community health workers to remote areas with vaccines, malnutrition screening tools, and other basic health services.
