“I feel safe knowing that the hospital is here.”
That’s what Elvianise said after giving birth to twin boys, Vialans and Vialansky, recently at HAS.
Before the 20-year-old delivered her babies, she felt dizzy and had a headache – then she passed out. At HAS, she was diagnosed with eclampsia, a rare but serious condition where high blood pressure results in seizures during pregnancy.
Her babies were born healthy, but it took Elvianise four days before she was able to breastfeed.
“I could not give them milk and the hospital helped me with that,” she says.
She credits the nurses, doctors and our loyal donors with helping her to feel safe in the midst of her health emergency.
In Elvianise’s words, “Health is life.” And that’s exactly what you provide with your gift to HAS: peace of mind, hope, and the promise of tomorrow.
