This month, HAS salutes the many men around the world who are embodying the spirit of Father’s Day. Allow us to introduce you to three generations of sons from our own HAS family.
The Benjamin* family relies on HAS for their healthcare. Marcdy, age 4, has received immunizations and nutrition screenings from HAS community health workers, helping him to remain healthy and attend school.
“The best part about being a father is seeing my son grow every day,” says Marcdy’s father, Marc Luther. “I am so thankful that he is healthy.”
Marc Luther, an IT employee of HAS for two years, relates that HAS also has been pivotal in the life of his father, Marc Gerard. When Marc Gerard suddenly had an asthma attack several years ago, HAS saved his life.
“My son carried me to the hospital that night, and they gave me oxygen as I was on my last breath,” said Marc Gerard. “I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for HAS.”
HAS aims to be here to serve future generations of fathers and their families and communities.
“As a father of two, I can relate to this story,” said HAS CEO Louis Martin. “We want to ensure the health of our children. As a son, I also relate to wanting to care for one’s parents and be sure they receive the care they need. It is gratifying to know that we are making a significant, positive difference that enables people to live productive lives, from generation to generation.”
