The annual White Hot Night benefit almost lived up to its billing.
And that “almost” is a thankful one.
The attendees gamely donned white, and things kicked off at 7, but the cool breezes blowing across the open terrace of the Sailfish Club did away with the Hot part, even with hundreds of cocktail-ing and sunset-watching guests filling the place.
The event took place March 25 and honored Jennifer Grant with the Grand Chapeau Award. The award, in the shape of a hat, is a nod to the one worn by hospital founder (and Grant’s stepfather), Dr. Larry Mellon.
Grant is the daughter of Gwen Mellon, Larry’s wife and co-founder of the hospital.
Anna Mann and Louise Stephaich were chairwomen for the evening, which also included dinner, a live auction conducted by chairman Tom Quick, and dancing.
Kristen Kelly Fisher was honorary chairwoman.
More than 200 people attended, including Ginny Burke, Ellen and Ian Grahan, David Ober, Peggy and Dudley Moore, Mary and Antony Underwood, Wynn Laffey, Robbin and Alexander Gaudieri, Jenny Garrigues, June and former Grand Chapeau winner Tim Rooney, and lots more.
Close to $600,000 in proceeds will benefit the HAS Haiti.
