Every year Pittsburgh, PA, marks the beginning of the holiday season with “Light Up Night,” which attracts crowds of all ages to concerts, fireworks and other festivities in the city. This year, HAS helped bring the spirit of giving to Pittsburgh’s Light Up Night celebration November 21 with a fun activities tent, where visitors could win free prizes and create “UNselfie” photos showing why they give to causes such as HAS.
“Giving Tuesday is coming up December 2,” said former community outreach manager for HAS. “With HAS’s U.S. office in Pittsburgh and the many HAS donors who live here, we wanted to take advantage of this tremendous opportunity to personally thank Pittsburghers for their support, and to tell our story to those who don’t yet know about us. The response was absolutely wonderful.”
The HAS Light Up Night tent drew more than 500 visitors who learned about HAS, including many who donated on the spot, inspired by a generous donor who has committed to match dollar-for-dollar all gifts pledged and given to HAS for Giving Tuesday up to $10,000.
The HAS tent also was staffed by HAS Coro Fellow Kenny Chen, with photography sponsored by Ben Brownlee of B2 Photo.
