We hope you are feeling as optimistic about 2019 as we are. Thanks to the outpouring of support from donors like you, we are well positioned for another year of collaborating with the people of the Artibonite Valley to improve their health and quality of life.
In 2019, the goals for our clinical team revolve around working more efficiently. We are in the process of re-evaluating staffing and doing an internal reorganization. We want to equip our clinicians and nurses with the tools they need to improve patient care and support them to avoid burnout. To accomplish this, we will provide greater supervision, additional education sessions, and bedside teaching.
We would like to establish a more effective triage system and better organize and stock our emergency room. This will enable us to treat trauma patients, stroke patients, and others with severe health problems as soon as possible with the best equipment available. In general, we want to revamp our processes and systems, especially in regards to materials and medications, to reduce waste and losses.
There are many projects on the horizon that we are excited to dive into this year: the inception of a hypertension prevention program and a water infrastructure overhaul are just a couple. Look for details about these in communications throughout the year.
Thank you always for your support. Without you, we couldn’t do this work.
Best wishes for a healthy and happy new year,
Dr. Silvia and Dr. Bien-Aimé
